I live in San Antonio and I would check this library out if it wasn't located clear across town in the south. Its just way to far out of the way for me to get to.
Would be interesting just to check it out. Here is a local article with more details on what devices they bought, how many books and the demographic of the area. http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/loc...ry-4814924.php Last edited by Atunah; 09-14-2013 at 04:42 PM. |

I hope they aren't actually using iMacs. Those SUCK to read on. Hell, I HATE working on them because they're freaking huge and I have to literally shrink the apps I'm working on to take up only the left bottom corner of the screen.

What did that "savant" say?
"Our own children won't recognize us." Well, maybe grandchildren. |

I don't get it? I have three iMacs in my home, and I read on my 27" iMac for hours each day. How is it different from any other display?

But at my college, they have those 27" iMacs and it just overwhelms me. Because for ME personally, it's like sitting in front of a flatscreen TV, especially since they have them like right in your face. You know, you tend to setup a desktop at the back of a desk with the keyboard in front of you if it's against a wall. Well, move the screen 50% more towards you, and that's a typical classroom's setup. I get lost pretty easily. |

"Bookless"? It says right there they have 10 000 books available for library borrowers.
Jessica Lares: Your problem is with display size, not hardware manufacturer or OS. I don't understand why you're disapproving of iMacs in this context. |

If enough time passes, it's likelier certain parents won't recognize their children than the other way around. You know what they say about Alzheimer's: "You're always making new friends."
