Hi
i use Calibre 2.99b6 and i found 2 bugs on the WEB-GUI/INTERFACE (only there): 1) First: i use on SERIES with Sub-Categories [SERIES123.SUBSERIE123] SEARCH -> SERIES -> "Letter" -> on Target-"Main"-Serie -> i've oppend the options and use [++]. The search-string is now series:"=Book" ... i see only Books from Main-Serie ... Sub-Series: no. This is wrong: ++ means: Category and ALL sub-categories. If i remove the "=" => i works. => the search-string is the same like "+" 2) only an "design"-Bug On the "Details"-Page: "Serie": 5vonBook.blablabla.blalbal => no spaces before/after "von" (english: of) (on the "Overview"-Page: 5 of Book.blablabl.blalba <- no translation, but spaces) Featurerequest: I miss the file size (on details). EPUB - not really critical ... but comics with 200Mbyte, Mobile, EDGE, Volumen-Limit etc. - yeah! . Thx for calibre! I love it! BR Wulfread PS: Another bug exists possibly when reading CBZ. I have not been able to test this yet. I start "reading" (browser), there is the processing -> error message after processing. Details follow asap ("content" of CBZ [folder, no folder etc.]) |

Calibre 2.99.6 Portable & Firefox 53.03 64-bit: Bug
Reading ePub in the browser is working even worse than last report. I'm losing more than one line in a number of chapters. I'm losing the 4th column which is the last column of the chapter. I've even reset the settings back to default and still the problem exists. Last edited by JSWolf; 05-23-2017 at 10:51 AM. |

I have created a composite column to pick up translator name from Comments. It works. The translators' names are shown properly on Tags Browser, jacket.
However, when I use {#translator} in the filename template, it returns even the raw texts. |

@nqk: I'm not a big user of custom columns, but as I recall that was always the case, even in 2.x version of calibre. But maybe I am misremembering. Are you saying it works with 2.x but not with the beta?
@JSWolf: there weren't any changes to the pagination part of the reader in the latest beta, and I still cannot replicate. @WUlfread: Thanks, I am rather busy at the moment but I will look into your reports in a bit. |

Win10 FireFox 53.0.3 (32-bit) (it says it's up to date)
I'm testing with 2.99.6 binaries and CALIBRE_DEVELOP_FROM pointing to a fork that's current as of commit 802b1ab1e91db5041083bb835006ac669d1caef6 (I got similar results with just 2.99.6.) On initial page load, I get an error. After clicking through a couple times to show details: Code:

@JimmXinu: The browser cartel has decided to deprecate Application Cache with Service Workers even though Service Workers only work with https, requiring which is completely unsuitable for a private server like calibre.
So if the cartel actually has its way and manages to remove Application Cache, you will only be able to browse your calibre server offline if you setup HTTPS. Not much I can do about that. As for your error, it looks like your browser does not have a working IndexedDB implementation. Maybe because you are browsing in private mode? |

Hi Kovid,
Only an information. If I try to run calibre from source I become a Permission denied error message from content server. Spoiler:
This happen only with "run server automatically when calibre starts" activated. Seems the content server is faster then calibre GUI. No problem at all but maybe good to know for users who run calibre from source. Best regards, DD |

I don't know what to tell you--I'm not in private mode and restarting with all add-ons disabled didn't help. I may try a reboot, just in case (update--didn't help). Last edited by JimmXinu; 05-24-2017 at 03:41 PM. |

@Wulfread:
(2) is fixed by https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...265789e1094298 (1) will require more work, I will look into it. As for your errors reading books, they look like timeouts in the proxy. Does it work if you access the server directly without a proxy? |

Hi Kovid,
Calibre: 2.99.6 Windows 10 64 bit On installing over a previous installation where the server was configured to listen on port 9090, it actually started on 8080. The dropdown from the Share/Connect icon still said "Stop Content Server [192.168.0.103, port 9090]" but: Unexpected behaviour: a) I've been away a week and this laptop was off my local network more than long enough to lose its DHCP lease. It's actually currently 192.168.0.102. b) The preferences dialog had defaulted back to 8080, despite being configured for 9090 for a couple of years now c) The server was in fact listening on 8080, per the preferences dialog. Expected behaviour: a) Calibre is usually very good about existing settings, to the point it took me a couple of minutes to even think to check it had reset to the defaults. Somehow this one got missed (or if it must be reset, this is one place I wouldn't mind a popup saying so.) b) I would expect the GUI to check it's address, and the currently set preferences, and display it's own address accurately. (I realise most servers will not be changing ip addresses willy nilly, and my own real server doesn't but I don't think it's totally a corner case either. A lot of people don't bother to set up a static ip and a long enough power-cut would be enough to sink them.) |
