When you split a file does Sigil update links?

I couldn't find the answer in the help. It does so when renaming a file and I'm hoping it does the same when splitting.

Yes, in most cases

I have found problems when relative links (#foo rather than a fully qualified filename: section0001.html#foo) were used

There are still (unknown: some combination of rename/split/delete) edge cases that leave stale entries in the OPF that have to be removed by hand
