Could the Oasis' ergonomic design be done with the full battery inside it?

That is, without splitting it and putting most of the battery in the case. Do you think they might do it for the next Kindles in the future? Keep the design but stuff all battery power inside the device itself, not the cover. Do you think they didn't do it because it would be too weighty to hold on one side? How much weight does the bigger battery add on its own?

Just looking for some conversation and input on why they split it and whether it is such a big weight difference that it would be difficult to hold the device for long with one hand if it had the full battery. And the future of the ergonomic design for the next generations of kindles.

I hold my PW2 with cover with one hand all the time, and the Kindle Oasis is 127 grams lighter with the cover on and smaller as well. The total unit with cover is only 238 grams.

I seem to recall a video where they said that the aim is 30 % reduction in each generation. Who knows, the next kindle might not have battery at all, just energy beams sent directly from Amazon Web Services satellites in space :-)

The weight distribution makes a lot of sense while holding it, but it´s very nice that the cover turnes it into a neat solid rectangle.

Yes, but that doesn't make much sense to my way of thinking.

The next generation may have the solar chargers in the case, rather than one larger battery, and a small battery (as now) in the main Reader.
