Discworld television show by the BBC
This was news to me, apparently the BBC is planning a short series based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Possibly the City Watch sub-series given the title. I'm mobile so check the link for more info.

I'm sure I've seen other adaptations of his books on British TV

The Discworld adaptations are a mixed bag.
There's the animated ones - Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music. I quite like the former but mostly on the strength of the original story, it's probably my favourite book. (I once said that it was almost impossible to mess it up, on my way in to see an AmDram version my work colleague was in. Oh dear. No it's perfectly possibly to mess it up) The Colour of Magic has some good things about it but I'm not a huge fan. Hogfather is better plus it has Susan. I thought Going Postal was very good, probably my favourite of the live action ones. Currently waiting with semi-bated breath for the adaptation of Good Omens. David Tennant and Michael Sheen. |

I knew about a couple of the movies that have been done (I enjoyed Hogfather), but I don't think there have been any focused on the watch. I really look forward to seeing Sam Vimes.

The Colour of Magic also includes The Light Fantastic.
I thought it was a very good adaptation of both books. |

Here's a Den of Geek article on the various adaptations and their strengths and weaknesses.
