How to synchronize?

Hello,

I'm very new to Calibre AND ebooks AND ereaders. I tried finding the answer to my question myself and failed. I'm sorry if this is WAY to obvious or if I am way off the mark. (Also, sorry for my English!)

I use a PRS-650 on a PC with Windows XP. Downloaded and installed Sony's Reader Library as well, but never used it.

Right now, all my ebooks are both in my library and on my device.

Question:
When I change something in my "Library" window, be it correct a typo in a title, add or change tags, how do I get the change to show on my ereader as well? Right now it looks as if I have to do the same change twice. It doesn't make much sense, methinks.
I'm thinking of a "synchronize" button or something like that.

Does anybody see what I mean? What's the correct approach to this?

I am not a Sony User, but I just "Send (the corrected book) to Device".
To help mange Revisions, I created a custom (date) column 'edited' and set the date so I know which were recently edited (and may need to be sent the next time I connect the device)

Be aware, though, that if you edit fields that go into the save path on device (see preferences->send to device), you may end up with two copies of the book.
The Sonys have something called automatic metadata management, which can also be found in the send to device- preferences. You might want to check your settings there.

Under Preferences - Sending books to devices - Set metadata management to Automatic Management. This should automatically update the metadata of any books on your reader if it is changed in calibre.

Under Preferences - Plugins - Device interface plugins - Sony device interface - customize this plugin so your covers will be updated automatically.

I just want to say thank you for this information. I was trying to find this through calibre help and thought I'd have to delete & resend every book I'd changed until I found this.
I'm new to this forum and calibre so although this thread is a few months old, it's still useful.
