Help! Can't move books from Calibre to Glowlight 3

I usually keep my Wi-Fi on my Glowlight Plus 3 off, but I recently turned it on and got an update. The majority of my books disappeared (most or all side loaded) and I thought, no problem, I'll just move them back from Calibre. No go. I consistently come up with the message: "error communicating with device." I am able to side load library books from ADE. Suggestions appreciated!
