I think a lot of publishers are going to refine their efforts in the near future, as they see what works and doesn't. Hopefully they are all in it for the long haul.

i can understand publishers have development costs and need to recoup those as well as make a profit, but when they have near free "publishing" and distribution costs for edelivery they have no justification for their prices. obviously they're testing what the market will bear, hopefully the public won't be buying into this $5 an issue nonsense for too long. these prices are certainly keeping me from picking up any subscriptions, especially when the content is available on the publishers, or others, web sites for free.

I actually preferred the previous phone version of Time, even at phone-size on iPad. I get that publishers need to tinker, but as a reader, I'd rather be able to find something I like and stick with it. With too much morphing, publishers are more likely to lose me, because if a version I like changes and I move on, it's not likely I will be checking back for new versions that I might like. Ditto for pricing.

I quit getting magazines years ago, because I dislike reading paper.... Kind of excited about the emags.... but until they come down in price, no way.....

I would just get the $10 subscription for the print. Time has nothing special that I can't get elsewhere.
