Howdy!
Hi ~ new member here. what? How unusual is this?
Anxiously awaiting my Kindle2 ~ it should be here tomorrow. Meanwhile I am attempting to follow instructions on this forum & introduce myself as a "newbie", thereby eliminating the reminder @ the top of my screen. |

Hello Shallowgal -- welcome to MobileRead.
> Hi ~ new member here. what? How unusual is this? Not too unusual We have a steady stream of new members and since we nag them until they post at least once -- which doesn't have to be in the "introduce yourself" forum -- we do get a reasonable number of introduction posts. We're a 5 Kindle family sharing a single Amazon.com account, so you know that I'm a Kindle fan. However, to be fair, I also own a Sony 505 and enjoy it -- though so far the only books I've gotten from the Sony store are the freebies. Since I have been spending a decent amount at Fictionwise and Baen/Webscriptions, I've been collecting multi-format books and thus have plenty available to read on my Sony. By the way, there are lots of classic (copyright-free) and Creative Commons books available right here at MobileRead. Your Kindle is very happy with the Mobipocket format books which volunteers have uploaded to this site. |

Welcome to MobileRead, shallowgal!
You might experience some frustrations when you first get your reader, I know I did. But then it all seems to work out and you fall in LOVE! Once you've figured it all out and start to feel comfortable with it, download some free ebooks from our download pages here at MR. Enjoy! Happy Reading! |
