So ground turkey is like a gateway drug to tofu?

The carnivores response to tofu I suspect?
Edit: as mlewis78 says, it does need flavouring as it’s very bland otherwise. Filling though. |

Perhaps it's time to put the ground turkey to rest?
Anyone else find ostrich to be over-rated and over-priced? |

Same problem as ground turkey -- all lean, no fat. The flavour is in the fat, folks. Which is why duck fat makes the best roast or fried potatoes!

The good old days when McDonald's used tallow to make their french fries!

I miss secondhand bookstores, or bookstores that had a secondhand section. Sure, there are secondhand bookstores, but those focus on the more special books or really old books. Not regular, more recent fiction.
We used to have a bookstore chain called De Slegte, which had new books (often bargain books) and a big selection of secondhand books, both antique book and regular fiction. I've found some great bargains there. I see De Slegte is still operating, but with only three stores. So it looks like I need to plan a day out to one of those cities soon. |

Background info: I don't have caller ID on my landline and I screen all my calls; I only pick up when the message shows it's someone I want/need to talk to.
So, this morning I was listening to a message from someone who was trying to straighten out a snafu with her hotel reservation. My number reverses two digits of the number of the hotel downtown, so I figured I'd do the right thing and let the caller know it was a wrong number, rather than have her think her message got through. Picked up the phone: "You've got a wrong number." *Hang up* Uh, "I'm sorry to have bothered you." Would it have been so darned hard? Why are people so rude when being civil would cost them nothing at all? I could have let the message run, after all; answering the phone was doing her a favor. |

Years ago my office number was close to one of the numbers for the Toronto International Film Festival. Each year I'd get messages left by someone trying to obtain tickets, or change tickets.

My phone number was once used by someone who apparently took a payday loan. Since they're just automated calls, I have no option to tell them to bugger off. I block the number and it works for a few weeks until they start using a different one.
