Meets my needs
I am looking for an ereader with (1) large (2) eInk (3) touchscreen for making notes and (4) wifi capability (5) to browse my company's intranet for document lookup. As far as I can see this will be the first device to meet all of those criteria. Sure the design is toyish, but functionality-wise this is exactly what I need.
However no preordering for me, European as I am. I'm curious about the upcoming PixelQi technology though... |

Don't see why a different color should cost more. But I don't know about the manufacturing-maybe blue is the natural color of the plastic. (I do know about business-if they have to add color to the plastic anyway then it doesn't cost any more to add red than blue-so charging more for red, for example, is either poor management or greed.)

Just wondering, is anyone pre-ordering this?

Is there any info on the processor of this machine?
A Snapdragon at 1Ghz would be quite acceptable for the netbook part. |

Lose 90% of the bezel and it really looks like a nice device. As it is, I wouldn't buy it at all.

I can recommend shipito.com. I used them several times. They are quite reliable and charges are reasonable.

wouldn't two separate devices be better, a tablet and a reader? Having them joined together makes them bulky and heavy. Difficult to hold comfortably. Awkward for reading and awkward for browsing.
As far as charging more for colors other than blue; that is just a way to make planning and re-stocking easier. Remember Henry Ford: "you can have any color as long as it is black". They want to discourage you from buying the other colors but still have something else in case someone really dislikes their main choice. Last edited by HansTWN; 11-10-2009 at 12:49 AM. |

I myself am waiting to see what PL's Que will bring. I want a large reader with WiFi for newspapers and PDF's. But that doesn't explain why the 2 screens should be joined at the hip? If you could at least separate them, and reconnect them if needed? Then you would get two for the price of one.

You are probably right. But how do you hold this unwieldy giant? You might be able to fold the unused screen back, but it will be extremely thick and heavy. It will only work on a desk, and then you are better off buying a netbook/tablet and an ebook reader. That is how I see it. Perhaps someone will find it useful.

"Go Study (or Play) All Day
The enTourage eDGe™ was designed to let you go all day without recharging the battery. The lithium ion battery can last up to 16 hours of reading without recharging. One of the big advantages of the enTourage eDGe™ is that the battery can be replaced if it's ever necessary. And that lets you keep a spare on hand, if you want to have a backup for busy days." (It is my understanding that the e-ink screen has a 16 hour battery life, and the lcd screen has a 6 hour battery life) |
