-- the automatic measurement guessing the margins determines four initial values [top, bottom, left, right]; -- the user has his floating form to modify those four margins at will. I think this solves the problem of watermarks, adds freedom to the user and is flexible enough to work in unexpected page layout. PDF files with consistently different pages should probably be preprocessed... But the idea of an algorithm to identify overflowinig watermarks is very interesting! Foobnix, could you please mail me (or post here) the full (hierarchical) name of the class currently recognizing the borders, I would like to read it? |

From DSC032074 to DSC03280, the pictures were taken outside. The first (DSC032074) show a light zone in the top left corner. It was a big surprise because an don't see anything But with many attention, I can understand how my camera see something. In real life, this is practically invisible and like with a newspaper you move very slightly the page. For this pictures and many following, the sun was in my back, in front of the screen : the worst conditions. From DSC03281 to DSC03286, the picture were take in room with window + artificial light. The DSC03284 to DSC03286 show that if the angle is changed, the reflection could disappear. The DSC03287 was done to have the worst result: outside, screen in front of sun and me between the screen and the sun : the main shadow is my shadow. In conclusion, the reflection are very, very weak, in practice is not (for me) a source of trouble. Edit: Sorry, I forgotten to rotate some pictures... |

While we are thinking about automatic text blocks recognition I have added to beta (http://beta.librera.mobi) the simplest algorithm.
My idea is Minimum crop border percent. For my book good result is 12% (custom value), Crop percent is available only for "Book" mode Please test is it good or not for your books. I am lazy to add manual crop graphics |

Many thanks! This is indeed very nice screen protector. I was interested in seeing the "worst case". It's no question there must be some reflection but the point is how does it look like - is it a mirror or is it diffused as much as possible.

For those that want to crop pages or massage them in other ways, there is an excellent PDF tool called K2pdfopt available. The author lives on our PDF forum and is very active at helping users.

I'll try to take the same order to be able to compare with my previous post with the screenshots : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=392. I've commented some pictures too show the value used by the crop function. The usage of 5 % or 10 % are the major values used.
My conclusion : the usage of an percentage works very well. Thank you for the beta version (Beta-7.8.38-c523) tested. The new beta version seem to offer what's I need, some different percentage. I'm going to test it. Be patient Last edited by Randy11; 04-11-2018 at 11:25 AM. |

Look at the last pictures, for me it's good Only one other idea, for some books, the margins are different for odd and even pages, there is no symmetry ... |
