: D Ok, with pleasure, but what about
-- the automatic measurement guessing the margins determines four initial values [top, bottom, left, right];
-- the user has his floating form to modify those four margins at will.

I think this solves the problem of watermarks, adds freedom to the user and is flexible enough to work in unexpected page layout. PDF files with consistently different pages should probably be preprocessed...

But the idea of an algorithm to identify overflowinig watermarks is very interesting! Foobnix, could you please mail me (or post here) the full (hierarchical) name of the class currently recognizing the borders, I would like to read it?

I have tried to apply some screen protector but due to the Max's recessed screen design it is super hard to fit it. I've just destroyed it but anyway it was glossy one so I do not regret. I bought it for $3 in China ;-)

Anyway, It's been a while and I do not see any new scratches on my screen. I use it normally, maybe I'm a little bit careful about it but nothing paranoid. I don't know when and how the scratches happened on my screen. I guess that maybe it was during the first day when I tried everything including the pen pressure sensitivity drawing mode - normally I don't press the pen much on the surface and as I stated before I don't like using the pressure sensitivity mode to the extent that I regrett it is the default one.
This is not the stylus that cause the scratch but the dust between the screen and the stylus. Before write, it would be useful to remove the dust on the screen and on the stylus.

From DSC032074 to DSC03280, the pictures were taken outside.

The first (DSC032074) show a light zone in the top left corner. It was a big surprise because an don't see anything But with many attention, I can understand how my camera see something. In real life, this is practically invisible and like with a newspaper you move very slightly the page. For this pictures and many following, the sun was in my back, in front of the screen : the worst conditions.

From DSC03281 to DSC03286, the picture were take in room with window + artificial light.

The DSC03284 to DSC03286 show that if the angle is changed, the reflection could disappear.

The DSC03287 was done to have the worst result: outside, screen in front of sun and me between the screen and the sun : the main shadow is my shadow.

In conclusion, the reflection are very, very weak, in practice is not (for me) a source of trouble.

Edit: Sorry, I forgotten to rotate some pictures...

While we are thinking about automatic text blocks recognition I have added to beta (http://beta.librera.mobi) the simplest algorithm.
My idea is Minimum crop border percent. For my book good result is 12% (custom value),
Crop percent is available only for "Book" mode
Please test is it good or not for your books. I am lazy to add manual crop graphics

Many thanks! This is indeed very nice screen protector. I was interested in seeing the "worst case". It's no question there must be some reflection but the point is how does it look like - is it a mirror or is it diffused as much as possible.

For those that want to crop pages or massage them in other ways, there is an excellent PDF tool called K2pdfopt available. The author lives on our PDF forum and is very active at helping users.

With Android to keep a stable OS, what's the best solution in this case :
  • remove my version of Librera and install the beta version ?
  • keep my version of Librera and install the beta version ?

If I must remove an application :
  • must have to use the Max2 's tools ?
  • use 'adb' ? and how ?

Problem for me :
Quote:
~/OnyxMax2/Appli$ adb install Librera\ Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk[100%] /data/local/tmp/Librera Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Librera Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]
But with the good option '-r' :
Quote:
~/OnyxMax2/Appli$ adb install -r Librera\ Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk
[100%] /data/local/tmp/Librera Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Librera Beta-7.8.38-c523-arm+arm64.apk
Success
Now, I'm going to test the beta version.

Yes, -r option is saving current app state and app database (useful for updates)
If you want to completely fresh install you can run clear app cache.

Code:
adb shell pm clear com.foobnix.pdf.reader
I have added to beta possibility to configure more crop setting, works for "Scroll" and "Book" modes.

Also I have created Librera Reader thread, please also write here

Sorry, I have not make the test with the last beta version, the one with the 'scroll' mode ... it's take a moment to make the tests, they were done only four hours ago.

I'll try to take the same order to be able to compare with my previous post with the screenshots : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=392.

I've commented some pictures too show the value used by the crop function. The usage of 5 % or 10 % are the major values used.
  • Developpement système sous Linux (2 pictures) : you can see that the title of the top on each page is not at the same position;
  • Ruby - EffectiveTestingWithRSpec3 (3 pictures) : the last show that the column's size change for 'Part' and the fonts too;
  • Linux Magazine (4 pictures);
  • ITIL (5 pictures);
  • Base de données (2 pictures).

My conclusion : the usage of an percentage works very well.

Thank you for the beta version (Beta-7.8.38-c523) tested.

The new beta version seem to offer what's I need, some different percentage. I'm going to test it. Be patient

If you want to completely fresh install you can run clear app cache.

Code:
adb shell pm clear com.foobnix.pdf.reader
I have added to beta possibility to configure more crop setting, works for "Scroll" and "Book" modes.

Also I have created Librera Reader thread, please also write here
