T3 Overdrive
A couple years back I bought a T3 as a reserve in case my T1 developed problems. This spring, after something fell on my T1 while I was reading, causing a 1/8" divot in the screen (amazingly, the T1 is still usable except the divot blocks some text) I switched over to the T3.
When I first switched, I tried Overdrive and didn't get anywhere. Tried again last night and after some initial difficulty getting the login screen to load, I was actually able to download a book. Now if I could just have the t1's default font, and if I could find a skin to cover up the red bezel, I'd be really happy with the T3. (Red was what was available at the time I bought it - thought I'd get used to it but it still bugs me.) |

I used to have a red 505. I liked the red color.

I find the red color of the T3 shiny and distracting. There are still T1 and T2 skins available online after all this time, but I haven't found any for the T3. I thought about trying to do some kind of DIY paint job, but I'm not that great at craft projects so I'm afraid I would just make a mess of it - better to leave it as is. At least it is functional.

The other thing that's annoying about the T3 compared to the T1 is that the hole for the reset button is smaller. With the T1 I could use the prong of my watch buckle, or a fine-point ballpoint pen. The T3 needs a paper clip, which I am less likely to have at hand. Fortunately I have only had to reset it a couple times so far.

I use a map pin stuck into top edge of e-reader cover. Always handy for reset but seldom needed. Map pin has plastic ball top. I cut pin length to about 10 mm or 3/8 inch long. File or grind pin end flat.
