Losing files when saving saving to disk

I have duplicates in my calibre database which is fine for me. However when i save to disk calibre will only save one - on what criteria is this based - file size, most recent entry to the db etc?

Thanks

Save to disk normally refers to your attached DEVICE (storage)
Calibre save (to Library) on it's own.
You can only have 1 of each possible format PER title item.

Hi theducks,

I use save to disk and save on pc in another diectory. I relise it saves one copy of each format per file. But i have 2 copies of George Bushs' latest book both in epub. Will it save the larger 14mb epub file or 2mb epub file or the most recent, ie last one added to db or the first one?

Thanks

AFAIK, Last saved
This assumes that:
there is only 1 entry in the Library

If you have 2 entries: change the Title and or author name slightly.
George Bush vs George W. Bush <- 2 different authors

BTW if you Export includes {id} in the template, then the 2 different books will be saved, even if all the rest is exactly the same
