The Girl Who Kissed a Lie by Skylar Dorset is a tie-in prequel novella to her The Otherworld series of YA paranormal urban fantasy novels with romantic elements, starring a teen who discovers her hidden magickal heritage while surviving deadly hidden magickal court intrigue and newly uncovered family issues, as these teens tend to do (although this one doesn't seem to be one of the world-saving variants, but give it time), free courtesy of publisher Sourcebooks' Fire imprint.

Apparently the 2nd novel in the series, The Boy With the Hidden Name, is coming out fairly soon. If you happen to like this, Sourcebooks titles are couponable at Kobo, though you can't combine them with pre-orders, unfortunately.
