Just wanted to double-check. Can anyone confirm that on the new 2024 Kindles with MTP, the Kindle ebook files are still accessible and found in the \documents\Downloads\Items01 directory? and that they work with DeDRM 10.0.9?

I have a 2024 Kindle Colorsoft that uses MTP running the latest 5.18.1 firmware. The files are located as expected and most can be DeDRMed. It does not work for the small subset of books that are only delivered with the strongest KFX encryption.

Thank you, I'll make a note of that in the first post since someone in another thread asked about 2024 Kindles.

Kindle for PC Help
I have an e-ink Kindle that I purchased back in 2011 (You can have when you pry it from my cold dead hands) and it will not accept wireless deliveries for some reason, so I'm working with K4PC. I have the correct build as instructed (70904). I have the KFX input plugin and DeDRM in Calibre. I'm still getting the error Cannot convert book because it's locked by DRM. What am I doing wrong? Did I forget a step somewhere?
Do I need to worry about the key file for K4PC? |

That old of a Kindle was available 2 ways. Whisper sync and WiFi
Telcos shut down the old version of cell service (what your probably used). That is why you can't transfer wirelessly any more. |

No I think this was the first gen that synced over Wi-Fi. I have books sitting in my transfer queue on the website but no matter how much I hit sync, it won't do it

Now I'm re-downloading the right K4PC app becaue it auto-updated while my back was turned and I forgot to run the disable update batch file 🤦. We'll get there. Baby steps

I was using K4PC 1.39.x (and 1.40.x) since last year and can download all the old fixed-layout image-only azw magazines fine (I prefer this than KFX files downloaded via 2.x K4PC, because they have inferior image qualities.)
But starting today (Apr 23) a new magazine started showing "Item not available for this device type" again, which happened before for 1.2x versions but was solved by upgrading to 1.39+. Has anyone else encountered this? Last edited by fireattack; 04-22-2025 at 01:41 PM. |

I downloaded a book from amazon today into K4PC. What a hot mess that was, using v2.3.1. I've now downloaded 2.2.70904 but not installed yet.
There was no real file to be seen in the content folder so I then downloaded the file from Amazon again straight to my 2020 Oasis. (The first time wifi has ever been turned on). I then transferred the .kfx file to my computer. I tried to import to Calibre but when it imported it is kfx-zip, which means it did not DRM. I'm using dedrm v10.0.9 and kfx-zip and kfx-input are 2.23.0 Are there any next steps I can take or has Amazon beaten us? |
