I went out of my way to try some PDF books on Kobo Touch. It worked pretty good but not even close to ease of reading epub. Landscape mode was even better at times. One of the books was USN Underwater Cutting and Welding Manual with lots of drawings. Yes some PDF documents and books are poor fit for small screen.

The old Kobo Wifi was slow and clumsy trying to read same books making impracticable for PDF reading.
