Hi all,

My company just launched an online movement to spread goodwill, called the Warm&Fuzzy Federation. Because we want to prove that goodwill is contagious, we’ve made it our goal to send 100,000 Warm&Fuzzies out into the world by the Chinese New Year. Why is it so important we reach this goal? It means a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital will receive a $10,000 donation from us, which will help them provide first-class care to kids who need it.

Here's a list of some simple ways you can start making your kindness count for our cause:

I am sure this in an honorable movement but the following injunction:

I spent most of my adult life working in a children's hospital. Call your preferred dept (such as oncology) and ask them how you can donate $20 or so, so that the entire amount of your donation goes to the kids.

We had specific accounts established by parents from the deceased child's life insurance and earmarked for whatever they wanted to do with it, such as if the child had an unusual cancer. The fund could sponsor the initial unfunded year to start a research project until gvt funding kicked in at the second year.

For smaller donations, we had an account to help out-of-town parents pay to stay for months at a time at the Ronald McDonald House while their child was hospitalized, help with gas for daily travel to the hospital for local families, utility bills for families who lost jobs due to being at the hospital so much, etc.

BTW, RonMcD House is low cost, but not free. A lot of misperception that it is free all the time.

Also, my particular dept got a lot of soda cans or can tabs. The churches started that. Our social worker cashed them in and bought sweats and tshirts in all sizes and toothbrushes and shampoo and so on for families that went straight from ER to RonMcD without a chance to go home and pack a bag.

Just a couple of thoughts on ways to make their money go farther for anyone who wants to help but maybe don't have a lot to share.
