The _drp is simply part of the file name... not part of the extension. I'm guessing it's a run-of-the-mill epub.

It looks that it's has some influence in the file because when I delete that part of the name, the file stops working properly.

That makes no sense. What are you trying to read the file with that it "stops working" when you change the file name? It should be just a zip file. Change the .epub to .zip, open it up and see what's going on in there.

Exactly as you read, the original file name is COSMO-20101001_drp.epub. I change it to COS_TEST.epub and it stop working properly, now it shows only the basic pages, without the posibility to rotate pages when you move the tablet or zoom in/out the images.

Thank you DiapDealer that is exactly what it is!!
When you open the file it gives you the option to see the images/PDF over the regular format and choose if you prefer to read it that way or a regular epub text; it actually gives you a great chance to appreciate de real layout of the magazine or not. Do you have any idea how to accomplish this? Any software? ...ideas? I'll check with Barnes and Noble |

It sounds a lot like Amazon's Print Replica books.... PDF's in a wrapper. |

There is no publicly available software to make the DRP files, however we are working on a InDesign plugin that we will make available.
Note however that this is an evolving spec. |
