asked before, but hoping for a better answer
is there in the works a way for the xoom to be picked by calibre? I would love to have my library on it and the pc working together.

I'm not sure what answer you got before, but a device has to be seen by your PC as a drive for calibre to see it. And most Android devices are not seen as drives. One option is to use a card reader and move books to it, and then insert it in your xoom. Then you can transfer as needed from one folder to another, to your internal memory, etc.

My Pc recognizes my xoom as drive xoom, and I can move books to it, but the calibre program doesn't recognize it like it would my kindle or other readers. That is what I am looking for, that when I have the usb connections going that the program hooks on to the same recognition feature, so I can organize better.

If it is recognised as a drive then Calibre can potentially recognise it. You should post the device connection debug log if you want a driver to be added as that gives the information that is needed to add a driver. You could also do it yourself by configuring the User Defined device driver correctly.

"drive xoom" means it is an MTP device that windows explorer allows you to access. That is not an actual USB disk.

What all this means is that in order for Calibre to recognize a device, Windows has to assign it a drive letter--not just a name like drive xoom. I think most, if not all Android devices have this issue.
