Help finding Metadata Names and Values?
I was wondering if anyone here is familiar enough with the epub specification to point me to the specific location of a listing of Fields and acceptable Values? I'm not asking for any of the scripting, just the stuff that defines the reserved keywords and their acceptable values. So it would explain how to use the Author field, or ISBN, etc.
I realize that epub's current version is somewhat limited. If you're also familiar with any WIP that shows new, tentative additions, that would also be appreciated. (And I've asked for a specific location because I've been to the epub site of the IDPF(?) and have no idea what I'm looking for/at! ) Thanks for any help. |

Look in the OPF specification, it has links to other documents for Dublin Core metadata, etc.

Section 2.2 has the list of relevant metadata items.
The OPF also allows an extension to the 'creator' and 'contributor' fields using the "opf:role" attribute. These terms are taken from the MARC Code List, but a convenient list of roles is given here |

Thank you both for pointing out the areas I need to read. I appreciate the help.
