Is Kindle going to be international soon?
A little bird twittered in my ear that Amazon Kindle may go international quite soon. In fact, ebookretailers at the Kindle Shop have received a letter that asked them to define territorial restrictions if so wanted. Restricting your rights makes only sense when Amazon is planning to expand.
So this isn't quite clear yet (consider it a rumor if you want), but something is definitely moving. |

This may be from a post on teleread, or the original at Kindle Nation. In any case, I agree that this is evidence that Amazon will be launching in Europe this summer. Note that by default Amazon gets non-exclusive world rights to works published via DTP, even though the Kindle has always been US-only.
