Windows: when calibre is in Dark Mode, some screen elements are either very hard to see, or impossible - for me at least - dropdowns and text labelled buttons especially.

Set the text to white, BG1 to black (important!), and BG2 to "transparent", for example.
I did the test. Maybe @DaltonST will implement something like this (and probably better).

My changes are marked BECKY START/END.
Dark theme is enabled when BG1 = black.

FTR : you have to do this for each library that you want to access with CalibreSpy.

Thanks to BeckyEbook for her code, CS now supports 'Dark Fusion Palette' if CS Customization Background Color 1 is set to "black". For CS executed from a command file, CS will be entirely black, including miscellaneous windows. For CS executed from the Calibre GUI that is not "black", CS will be black only on the main CS window. The other miscellaneous windows will be the same as the Calibre colors for the same types of widgets being shown in CS.

Minimum Calibre Version now 4.6, so upgrade Calibre first as always.

Is there anything to be done for visibility in dark mode? The row colours I set in the settings didn't apply, and between the small text size and the poor contrast, the filtering dropdowns (and some of the text-labeled buttons below the table) are completely unreadable for me:



Also, some VL problems:

- having AND NOT tags:@cleanup anywhere in the VL query triggers an error about the user category not being at the beginning of the criteria.

- one based on tags:"=.Fanfiction" fails to return any books at all.

- VLs based on a saved search (search:"Cleanup") crash CalibreSpy entirely:

Run CalibreSpy in command-line mode via a .bat file (see examples provided where your .json files for each plugin are stored). That uses ONLY what your CS color preferences are. Running CS from the Calibre GUI icon causes Calibre's colors to mix in for some widgets with CS' colors, causing conflicts. Hence, your dark mode problem. Run CS from a .bat file, not the GUI, if you have dark mode issues.

I will fix the Calibre VL reimplementation in CS.
