t68 indexing books and failing to update "curently reading"

Hi.
I have bought used t68 Lynx. It's in a good state.
However there are some - i think - software issues:
1. Each time I turn it on it indexes the same pile of about 300books - and I have to wait a few minutes
2. It has problems with updating the "curently read". I mean once it has added a book there it does not change it. What is more a newly oppened book is added to a THIRD place of the recently read list.
3. it does not remember the page I have finished. When I leave the reader till it turns off and then turn it on again and open the book it opens it on a page which does not correspond to the place I have finished.

I've tried to update the firmware but after pressing "search for updates" the reader searches for a while then i get this error:

Code:
"i/o failure java.net UnknownHostException: Unable to resolve host "api.parse.com" No address associated with hostname."
Any help?
