Have you guys ever tried to leash your cats and take them for a walk?

I solved that little problem by placing adjustable window screens in front of the installed screens - so that the cats bounce off the inner screen - and don't pop through the outer screen!

I have installed cat shelves on several window sills in our home, and the draperies hang inside them thus affording privacy. The kitties enjoy laying on their shelves and coveting the birdies outside. And they have learned to access the shelves from the end where the drapes leave a gap for them.

I have. Last year my apartment was being fumigated. I brought him to work with me and he played with the office dalmation all day, he's an indoor cat and this was the first time he saw a dog or spent any time outside of our apartment. After work we still weren't allowed into the apartment so my husband and I took the kids to the park and put the cat on the leash. He was awesome. Followed us around on the leash the whole time. The only problem we had was a dog being walked close to us and he kept trying to get to the dog to play . He's a weird cat.

#1 wasn't too pleased (understatement) while #2 was kind of okay as long as she was following the dog. You need to know that this cat and dog always fought for the 13 years they spent together, except when they were miserable together in a moving car, or when they were on the leash during holidays. I guess she was feeling secure by his being right there in front of her |

Strider goes on walk about on the property with me all the time, we're on ten acres so there are adventures to be had. Arwen isn't as fond of walk about, she does really like car rides though, during which strider assures everyone within earshot that he IS being held hostage and tortured

Felicity will walk in a harness, but only where she wants to walk. She can be coached into different directions, but they are 'explorations' rather than walks. But she doesn't fight the harness, which makes travel with her easier. Today she's off to the Vets for 'moving to Thailand' vaccinations.

I hate being shaken out of bed by earth quakes. Not fun at all.
6 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter only 26km away from here. No damage but it's scary knowing there is nothing you can do to stop it... Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 04-12-2013 at 06:17 PM. |
