Edit 'editable' field on Custom Column in GUI?

Inside the DB, there is an field 'editable' in the 'custom_columns' table.
After a cautious experimentation, I understood that it allows to disable the edition of the field via the main interface/table, which is quite convenient for Composite Columns.

So my question:
Is there a GUI option for this behavior? Either I missed it or it would be a good little addition.
For standard columns, this is not very useful, but for me, not being able to edit Composite Columns in the main interface should be the default behavior. You should, by default, have to go through the "Add your Custom Columns" panel to edit then.

Thanks.

There is a tool in the JobSpy plugin, viz:

It's quite elaborate, but I seem recall it was developed to meet a users complex request, the set names (Apples, Cherries etc) are user configurable.

But not for people who have been editing composite column templates in the booklist 'forever' - i.e. people like me. In my editing Views I put them as the right most columns so that I am less likely to tab into them whilst editing - but I can tap F2 if I want to look/edit at them.
