I've come across a very odd book, first paragraph and I am completly confused...has anyone heard of this book or read this author before?? (It is a public domain book by the way).
ETA: Here is a snippet from the book I got of a website, I'm going to look into this author and book before deciding to read further: Every sentence the able and beautiful girl uttered caused Sir John to shift his apparently uncomfortable person nearer and nearer, watching at the same time minutely the divine picture of innocence, until at last, when her reply was ended, he found himself, altogether unconsciously, clasping her to his bosom, whilst the ruby rims which so recently proclaimed accusations and innocence met with unearthly sweetness, chasing every fault over the hills of doubt, until hidden in the hollow of immediate hate. - From Irene Iddesleigh Last edited by ChipnDale; 04-24-2011 at 01:28 PM. |

LOL! I had never heard of this, so I Googled and apparently it's a contender in the "worst ever..." category. So I think I'll pass for now.

Oh that explains a whole lot, I just might let it go for now...or try to see if my brain can handle the challenge of reading this.

I admit it had me curious though, but my brain certainly isn't up to it right now. But maybe something to check out at some other time!

Hmm, 42,2 on the Flesch–Kincaid readability test according to manybooks.net.
Anyway, couldn't resist and downloaded the book with the intention of reading it. Well, 42,2 for a non-native English speaker/reader should probably challenge my language skills just a tad.. (Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease) Edit: Just to compare; "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" has an index of 67,2 according to Amazon.com, stating that 78% of the sold books are harder to read.
