Newbe - ENERGY sistem e-reader Pro+ WIKI?

A newbe question,
As I unpacked my new device and I am learning I was wondering how to keep track of the modifictons an experiences.
Is it an idea to satart a wiki on how to tune the device?
Much can be found in the forum, but I find it difficult to keep track of the latest.
(hm; am I making myself understood?)

In short:
1. Is it a good idea to start a wiki?
2. Where can I start a wiki on how to get the best out of my device.

Kun, Belgium

Fellow noob

I hated my Ereader for a week or so after buying it, but after rooting it, getting the e-ink optimised ALReader, Xposed, etc I'm finally beginning to like it. For the life of me I have no idea how to install bloody fonts on it. Tried all the usual methods but am stuck with the hideous ones that come with it.

If anyone can enlighten me I would be up to writing a walkthrough which others could add to.

Thanks but the inbuilt FBReader only stays open for a few seconds before crashing! The e-ink optimized ALReader linked on this site is the best app for me but no matter where I place fonts only the crummy ones that came with it show up.

Stranged, since I placed my fonts into:
/mnt/sdcard/Fonts (thats into the internal storage space) and AlReader is allowing me to use them. New fonts are recognized after reboot.

Thanks for the answers.

@zemblance:
What device are we talking about?
If it was the energy Ereader Pro+ ?
Have you tried to update it to 2.00.?

I am satisfied with the update (that took long to install, but rebooting seems to let it work smoother).

"FBReader only stays open for a few seconds before crashing! "
> have no such experience, works fine.

nhedgehog, thank you.

So BOYUE T62 and energy sistem Ereader Pro+ are almost identical at the inside?

I recommend reading this and this thread.

In general:
Energy sistem Ereader Pro=energy sistem Ereader Pro+ without carta display.
Energy sistem Ereader Pro=Boyue T62C
Energy sistem Ereader Pro+=Boyue T62D
Energy sistem Ereader Pro(+) is a rebranded Boyue T62(C/D) Reader.

Energy sistem changed the firmware a little bit compared to the original one from Boyue but not much and the firmware changes are not documented. Boyue is giving out firmware updates more often but has some serious problems regarding the quality of the firmware. The latest Energy sistem firmware (2 for pro+ and 5 for pro) is supposed to bring a better batterylife to thoose devices but some users report touchscreen problems for the pro+.
In my opinion Onyx is producing the best firmware for those devices, but you have to be careful to use it. Onyx firmware updates can be adapted to work with Energy sistem Ereader Pro(+). See the quoted threads. Onyx firmware differs the most from the Boyue/Energy firmware versions I tested.

Whenever I put the fonts there or in the adobe fonts folder or the system folder they don't show up after reboot. The only way I could fool the Ereader is by renaming my 2 fave fonts to replace system ones. That worked.

You can start a page on our wiki: https://wiki.mobileread.com

The Kindle Developer's Forum has been using it for a long time, as a place for people to index information, tutorials, etc. where everyone can keep track of it, and easily contribute.

Wiki pages are best for this, since you don't have to rely on one user to maintain an OP, or force people to read through dozens or hundreds of pages full of posts.

Strange, which app isn't recognizing those fonts and where you put them exactly?
Mine are in:
/mnt/sdcard/Fonts for AlReader
and did you try
/mnt/sdcard/adobe/resources/fonts
for other readers.

Thank you eschwartz,
Two questoins:
1. do I need a new login for the wikipage?
2. I had a look around on the Wiki Mobileread , but could find where to start a new page. My idea was indeed to summerise lessons learned from the pages and pages in serveral fora.
