Even when changing USB behavior on the device to MTP and clicking the x on either a pop up on the nook itself or on your comp when you plug it in? I forget exactly what the pop up says but it's something like do you want to allow usb mode to transfer books.

I never changed the USB behavior. It's always connected via MTP. Plug it in and it appears in Windows Explorer. No popup on the Nook. The Nook stays completely usable while moving files over. No ejection when done.

When my nook is plugged in and I have opened calibre I can download books to it directly(download to device)send to main memory and the book shows up immediately on my nook. Then I can press device and eject this device. It works just fine. Much improved from no Calibre connection that we had before.

What OS? I'm on Windows 11 and my Nook Glowlight 4 plus still never appears in calibre at all. Just Windows Explorer.

I am using Windows 11. Prior to the last update, Calibre would see the GL4+ but I would get an error message something like "Calibre cannot access the device". Since the update Calibre accesses the GL4+ just like all my other readers.
