Angry My cyberterrorism novel - written FOR e-readers

Hi guys,

Would appreciate some reads/reviews of my new novel 'Joe is Online' - it's composed entirely using blogs, emails, chatroom logs, diary entries and websites. Early reviews have commented on how original it is and how it works so well on an e-reader.

An novel written for the internet age. A highly original way of telling stories using words on a screen. A story told entirely through emails, blogs, chatroom logs, websites and diary entries. A world where anyone could be a terrorist.

Joseph Brady is not a normal 11 year-old. The brightest kid in his school, but also the worst-behaved. His teachers despair and can't control him. In the end they decide to put him into isolation in the artroom at lunchtimes. It doesn't take Joe long to work out how to use the artroom computer.

In 1997 Joe finds a way of getting the artroom computer online. Twenty years later, he'll be conducting highly co-ordinated terrorist attacks, beginning in the online world, but very quickly spreading into the offline world.

Nobody can trace their source until a quiet, shy professor in terrorism called Penelope Hunt discovers a link to Joe. She finds herself sucked into a conspiracy which transcends race and religion. With only a radical tele-atheist to help her, Penny decides to shut down Joe's activities, placing her own life in grave danger in the process.

'Joe is Online' spans continents and decades. Its setting is the boundary where the online and offline worlds meet.

Early reviewers must never have read Dracula, which "is mainly composed of journal entries and letters written by several narrators who also serve as the novel's main protagonists; Stoker supplemented the story with occasional newspaper clippings to relate events not directly witnessed by the story's characters."

Indeed. The epistolary novel was considered rather passé by the turn of the 20th century. Wilkie Collins was perhaps their main proponents with novels such as "The Woman in White" and "The Moonstone".

Wasn't familiar with the term "epistolary novel", thanks.

Here's someone who has written a series of 3 (so far) books entirely in the form of instant messages:

That's one for my "must avoid" list.
