How do I join IRC channel for mobileread

I was able to join on the link here for IRC web app, but I cannot type anything? Do you i have to use a third party app like textual to join?

Is there a thread on here that explains the process better? I searched and could not find anything.

The webapp allows me to type, I just checked. What problems are you having?

Although I usually connect via Thunderbird's integrated Chat feature.
