Kindle for Mac Version 7.32.2 and KFX

So I had Kindle version 1.40.1 and conversion of kfx files worked just fine. However, now my Mac won't allow any downloads on 1.40.1 and required me to download version 7.32.2 from the App Store. They have tried to be sneaky and hid the download files but I have found the files however when adding to Calibre (7.22) it says the files are locked with DRM and cannot be downloaded. I still have the option to download the azw file from my Content page on Amazon but I'd really like the option to get the kfx files directly from Kindle rather than having to download the azw.

Anyone know how to possibly fix this?

There is currently no fix for this. The new Kindle for Mac app apparently uses the same KFX DRM mechanism as the older version but it stores the unique encryption key someplace new that has not yet been discovered.

Is there anyway to still force the Mac to use 1.40? The app opens but as soon as I try to download a book the message comes up that I need to use the latest version from the App Store.

Also, I tried installing Kindle version 2.4 on a PC and downloaded the kfx file to a USB drive and moved it to my Mac and still get the error for DRM cannot be removed.

This is getting close to if not over the limit of discussion/help with removing DRM. I would suggest removing the DRM on the PC.

How so? It's just a discussion of how to get a KFX that can have the DRM removed. There's no discussion of how to remove the DRM.
