Julie Smith's booksbnimble press, which I consider to be a legitimate publisher, has four free books out for Thanksgiving - free for today and tomorrow per the email I received. At least two of them have been free/on sale before, but two were new to me.

All are first-in-series, presumably to get you started on the series, but many booksbnimble books go on sale/free pretty often, so probably okay if you do get hooked...

After being continued by David Lagercrantz for three books, now apparently Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander series is being carried on by Karin Smirnoff. And the new (2023) seventh book in the series, The Girl in the Eagle's Talons, is on sale in the UK right now for £0.99. I don't follow this series, so can't comment on whether the follow-on books are any good...
