Organizing Manga Chapters into Volumes

I've recently downloaded many individual chapters of various manga and converted them into lrf format to work with my Sony PRS-505. It worked well enough, but having so many individual files is somewhat of a pain and so I wanted to combine them into the same format that they would be if I were to have purchased a volume of manga from a bookstore.

Anyways, I was just wondering what the best way to go about this would be. Filenames are not consistent between the chapters and so if I were just to throw all the jpg/png files into one folder then rar them they would probably be some mixups. I could just rename them all one by one, but that seems to be both inefficient and a painful process.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.

I extract ZIP/RAR files to a single folder and run a batch file renamer (A.F.5 Rename your files 1.1 gets a lot of use), delete any duplicate credit pages, and re-compress to ZIP, finishing by changing the filetype to CBZ. If you are getting files from several different sources it's a bit of work to order the files correctly, but it's worth the time for me.

Check out manga2cbz over in the iRex forum by brookman. The default settings generate files for the DR800, but brookman allowed for generating files tailored to any screen resolution. You don't have to pre-process the image files using this program (edit: script, really), but I prefer to do it anyway.

Thanks for the pointers. I'm going to look into getting a batch file renamer. Glad you pointed out manga3cbz, probably would never have noticed it since I do not have an iRex.
