Using one calibre library on several computers
Hi all,
i would like to use my calibre library from more than one computer (even outside my LAN). So i have put the library on my NAS and was thinking to import the metadata.db on my second (remote) computer. Is this the way to go? And.. will it actually work. Because I see right now the performance of the big file structure that Calibre creates for storing the books is not really performing well on my nas ;-) Hope to get advice. |

I guess it depends on how large your library is.
What I do I have my Calibre library (10GB) on my Dropbox account. The benefits are:
Downsides of course:
Dropbox works for me, I just set and forget. Downside of NAS would be configuring for secure access outside your network. Upside is it's cheaper though. :-) I've been using Calibre with Dropbox for years, since before Calibre was 1.0, with no issues. Last edited by Phoenix84; 09-04-2017 at 05:53 PM. |
