That was scary!
I got home last nite and my dog was having trouble breathing. One trip to the vet and a night of sitting up watching, and he seems to be ok today. SUmkIII did most of the sitting up part. At one point the vet said that he didn't think Max would have made it if we hadn't brought him in. He was having an anaphylactic reaction to a probable bee sting.

oh no ! i'm so glad he's okay ! stupid bees, i sympathise with him completely, i'm allergic to them too and since the reaction is progressively more severe with every sting probably the next one will kill me, or at least send me to hospital. it's a good thing you caught it in time and took him to the vet. poor little max ! you should give him some bacon to make up for the trauma.

I'm glad to hear your dog is ok..the same thing happened to mine (see picture below) we went for a walk in the woods one day and she started shaking and then layed down and started breathing heavy..then out flat on the ground..eyes glassed over..now imagine I'm 115 soken wet and shes 65lbs..I had to pick her up (no easy chore) and carry her limp back to my car and rush her to her vet. found out she was bitten by something and now have to carry Novohydroxyzine when ever I take her somewhere near woods..I know how you felt..trust me...but she's been fine lately..but sucks because we like to go camping.. take care of each other

So glad to hear Max made it okay.
When we first got the late Monty, he was once badly sick overnight (shivering, obviously in pain moving, even his head). We stayed up all night, and should have called the vet. We didn't, and luckily he came to in the morning as if nothing had happened (we subsequently suspected "pet friendly" snail pellets). We pay more care now (instead of applying the same poor standards we apply to our own health ), even though such care didn't save him later on. |

I'm so sorry your Max had to go through all that. It makes me crazy when any of our dogs get sick. I'm glad he's doing better.

I'm so glad Max is okay and you got him help in time.
It's such a helpless feeling when something is wrong with a pet since they can't verbalize how they feel or tell you what is wrong. |
