So until the covers are fixed, they will always be a steaming pile of dung. And the fact that Jim allows these errors makes him look really silly. |

Well spotted. That makes the covers a double pile of steaming turds.

Oh, come ON, guys!
They're just freaking covers. It's not like a series changing the main actor in a series midstream. You'd still read the books if they had a black cover with text only, right? I realize everybody here that's a fanatic is anxious for the new book, but let's not lose our minds, eh? Try to maintain some perspective. Hitch |

The hat is not going to go away. From ROC's point of view I can understand why they choose to portrait a wizard with a hat. And not just a wizard, but a wizard private investigator. It is the expectation, even inside the books. To add insult, Harry wears a duster, but chooses not to wear a hat with it. He is just as weird as a cowboy without a hat. About that duster that he wears. I hear complaining that the covers show it as leather and sometimes not. I see no issue with it, since he is not even wearing the same duster forever. It is not always leather either. Until Susan gives buys him his first iteration of leather duster he didn't have leather, far as I remember. At least one leather duster gets shredded, another incinerated beyond repair. What about a backup? Highly unlikely that he has a duplicate backup given how much effort it takes Harry to put all the spells and enchantments on it. |

You used to see the cover every time you picked up the book you were reading. But, eBooks open at the last page you read. The only time I see the cover is when I pick a book in Calibre and first open the book. I have never obsessed over covers since most of them have nothing what so ever to do with what is actually going on in the book.

And FWIW, I'm not to particular about the cover. Back when I had paper books in a bookcase, it was nice to have similar covers, now I don't really care. |
