Walt Whitman: The Life and Adventures of Jack Engle
Having read Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass multiple times, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that a previously unknown book manuscript of his was found titled The Life and Adventures of Jack Engle.
https://www.uipress.uiowa.edu/books/...jack-engle.htm It was a joy to read, bringing back memories of Leaves of Grass and his style of writing. It took a bit to get used to since it was written in the mid-1800s but was a kick to get back into Whitman's head and that period of our US history. |
