Delete Tag Slows/Freezes Calibre

Hi,
I've just created an 8,000 book library. If I try to delete a single tag from a book (or one tag associated with multiple books), it slows/freezes the software. It takes about 1-2 minutes to delete the tag.

Is this normal? Is there a way to speed up such a simple task?

I did a search of the forums before I posted and didn't see anything similar. I apologize if this has already been addressed.

Thanks

@Alphite - No it's not normal. But a couple of things come to mind

If the library located on a server, NAS or a cloud service then see http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq....rked-drive-nas

Another thing to try is to exclude the library folder from your AV

I was running everything off of a NAS server, so I guess I have to fix this.

Would this explain the slow run speed? Or it is just not a good thing to do in general?

Thanks

BR gave you the link.

there are 3 NAS/Network drive cases
1)it works
2)it works slow
3)it damages the library in some way

It can give little or no warning of a case shift
