eDGe Owner Contemplating the Kindle2

I admit, the new lower price intrigues me...but, mostly b/c the novelty of the eDGe is starting to wear off, and at no fault of the fine folks at enTourage - it's the Google/Android thing that is wearing me down more than anything. In it's current state, Android just isn't suited for replacing a netbook, which was my whole draw to begin with.

That said, what do I need to pay attention to if I'm looking at making the switch? I've got about a dozen or so DRM'd PDF/ePUB books from fictionwise - am I going to have to re-purchase all of those to read them on the Kindle?

You would either need to repurchase them or liberate them. Google for more information.

Kindle only reads mobi and non-DRM PDF. But it is easy to convert, once you liberate them. What is no longer easy is to liberate the books you buy from Amazon-but I am hopeful a solution will be found soon.

It's easy peasy to strip and convert. Apprentice Alf's blog is a good place to start.

I have the same quibbles about the Edge as you do. Android is just not quite ready for large screen devices.
