The Preset RSS feeds don't work

I just heard about calibre from on of my more technically inclined friends. The promise of getting RSS feeds outside of the preset sony rss feeds are awesome.

Unfortunately, I'm not terribly technical. some of the preset RSS feeds don't work for me. I've tried to understand what to do from reading the userguide, but i think it's beyond my capacity.

To that end, all I want to do are two things:
1) How do I delete the news sources that don't work from the main button?
2) How do I change the fontsize for the NY Times pull?

I'm completely new to this, so the simpler the steps the better!
