‘Default device’ setting does not persist
One is supposed to be able to set a ‘default device’ for Kindle book purchases using a web browser. And it did work at one time. However for many months, it only persists for a few days. Then it picks the first device registered to my account (first in alphabetical order of device name). I reported it to Amazon but wondered if anyone else is having this problem.
I know: I could probably work around this by renaming my desired device ‘1 Toms Voyage’ or something like this. But that would just trade one annoyance for another. The other thing I would try would be to re-register the device Amazon keeps wanting to set default to: maybe the data associated with it is corrupt. But it is a couple of thousand miles away with a family member and doesn’t seem worth the trouble of the many tries it will probably take for them to get my ‘secure’ password typed in correctly with the virtual keyboard. |

Yeah, I've got half a dozen devices, 3 of which are physical kindles. I've had no problem with the default moving around.
I did *used* to rename them, so the desired one was first. That was either before they allowed us to pick, or before I figured out how to do so. |

I've had that happen in the past, but not recently. It's quite annoying.
