Converting HTML Chapters into Kindle?
I have an ebook that is a collection of HTML chapters. I'm attempting to convert this into one file that I can read on my Kindle, but I'm having some trouble. Is there an easy way to do this?

You need to start with an index/table of contents html file that has links to all the individual chapter files. Add that single file to Calibre and it will grab the rest and put them in a combined zip. Then convert from zip to mobi.

How can I incorporate images into the document? I have links to them in the chapters, but so far, no luck. Last edited by monty88; 01-31-2011 at 03:05 PM. |

Images in standard <img> tags should be properly included in the book, I believe.

I'm trying to do this also, but for a Sony reader. I have the table of contents file which seems to have the correct format as shown in kovidgoyal's link but, forgive me, what is the GUI that I am supposed to put the file into?

Drag just the html file with the TOC onto Calibre's book list, in the main window.

To add a individual book I would drag the TOC(html) to the calibre book list. Calibre will use this file grab up any other files in the directory and zip them up and add them as a book to calibre, ready to convert.

It looks now like you are trying to make a book from a web site. This is possible but to use the method in this thread it requires all pages or in this case chapters of the book to be saved local to your machine in one directory. Good Luck. |
