Bug? Automatic book conversion broken in Calibre 1.18

Calibre 1.18 seems to have broken automatic conversion of books when doing a "Send to Device".

I'm sending books to my iPad Mini via the "iOS Reader Applications" plug-in, which only supports Mobi books. If I do a "Send to Device" for a book in a different format, I get the usual warning:

Could not upload the following books to the device, as no suitable formats were found. Convert the book(s) to a format supported by your device first.

I click "OK", which in previous versions of Calibre would automatically start a conversion job for the books, but nothing happens.

Manually converting a book to Mobi format and then sending it to the device works absolutely fine.

Is this a bug, or a deliberate change in Calibre's behaviour?

There have been no changes to that part of the code in 1.18, and testing with connect to folder still has working auto conversion for me. Likely a bug in the iOS plugin.

I've verified that it still works correctly with my Kindle PW, so it does indeed look like a plug-in issue. I've reported it. Thanks for the help, as always, Kovid.
