99 cent strange tale! Strange Soul Mates: A Short Story

If you can't win a heart, take a mind.

Steven has some serious trust issues and has done some serious drinking at the bar.

Emily, his girlfriend, has unknown whereabouts and won’t respond to any of Steven’s alcohol-fueled and accusatory texts.

George Packard, an ex-government engineer and fellow bar patron, claims to have the solution: a machine that promises to link the couple in a permanent, unconventional way.

Emily isn't on board with Steven's selfish designs which start to unravel when she decides to fight back.

"Philip K Dick may have reincarnated himself in the form of CL Gordon. Reminiscent of We Can Remember It For You Wholesale (filmed as Total Recall) or The Minority Report, this book takes the germ of an idea - in this case, the desire to read someone's thoughts - and weaves it into a short thriller." - Mike Smith, e-thriller.com

"This is a short tale, and while I think there is a lot to be explored on the topic, I felt that C. L. Gordon did a great job here. I was impressed by how well the characters and their situation was expressed and developed with such brevity." - Kelley, Goodreads http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/679147510

"This was a fun read. Told primarily from the perspective of Steven, our main character, the story flows well. Steven fears his girlfriend Emily is fooling around on him, and while drowning his sorrows at a local bar he meets another character, George, who offers a unique solution to Steven's problems."
