azw format for kindle 2 can't open in the device???

I downloaded Stanza for Mac OS X and installed successfully.

I open a txt file with Stanza and export it for kindle, default output file is azw format. When i put the file to documents in the kindle, it can't be opened.

Can someone tell me what the problem is?

I don't know but the Kindle can read text files so you can transfer it directly to the "documents" folder on your Kindle.

Also check out Calibre (Windows, Mac and Linux) for your conversion and ebook management needs.

I second daffy's recommendation of Calibre. The problem may well be Stanza. It is a very nice reading application on the iPhone/Touch, but is lacking as a document converter on the desktop.
