Device not recognized: Aluratek Libre Touch (Android-based)
Hi! As noted in the subject, this device is not recognized by Calibre.
FYI, it is advertised to support these formats: epub, pdf, txt fb2, mobi, prc, rtf Copied below, is the "debug device detection" output produced by my Win7 platform (from Preferences | Advanced | Miscellaneous). Thanks for any help! Thanks for your lightning response!!
I also have a HipStreet HS-700M reader that's detected as "Aluratek Color". In an attempt to have it recognized as its own device, I customized the "User Defined .." plugin with the information from "Get information to setup ..." (again, produced from Preferences | Advanced | Miscellaneous). (BTW, my wife actually has an Aluratek Color.) However, it didn't seem to have any impact. Have I done something wrong or misunderstood what this is for? Thanks again! DH --------------------------------- USB Vendor ID (in hex): 0x1f3a USB Product ID (in hex): 0x1000 USB Revision ID (in hex): 0x0002 Windows main memory ID string: USB_2.0 <-- I assumed this is really the "vendor" str Windows main memory ID string: USB_FLASH_DRIVER Copy these values to the clipboard, paste them into an editor, then enter them into the USER_DEVICE by customizing the device plugin in Preferences->Plugins. Remember to also enter the folders where you want the books to be put. You must restart calibre for your changes to take effect. |

You'd have to disable the Aluratek Color plugin first.

Hmm - I see. Since we also use an Aluratek Color, is there any way they can both coexist? If so, can a separate plugin for the HipStreet be built "easily" by cloning the one for Aluratek Color and modifying it ... can I do this or is this something the dev team has to do?

There can be only one active driver per set of USB ids. You have to choose which one you want.

I see. I'm guessing these customizations reside on the local Calibre installation not with the library itself? I ask because if it's not bound to the main ebook storage, I can set up one host installation to recognize the Aluratek Color Libre and the other, the HipStreet.
