exporting data from the ereader to a computer

Good morning everyone.
I am working on a project to export the ereader screen to computer (as an image or even better as text) every time the page changes.
I'd like to be able to create this system for any ereader, but if I can't I'd like to make it work at least on kobo libra h20.
Can you give me any advice?

(this project does not involve illegal actions: every time a page is sent to the pc I will delete the previous page)

You can enable screen capture on the Kobo in the configuration file. Then the power button does it. The resulting image files can be copied via USB. It might be full true color RGB rather than the 16 level monochrome that's displayed.

I seem to remember the Kindle had such a thing too.

Actual VNC style live (via WiFi or USB Networking) image transmission might be possible on a Kobo via user added program.

Note: only sharing a copyright ebook with others would be illegal. Simpler to have a camera and automated page turner to manage any ereader. Been demoed with a Lego Mindstorms robot to turn Kindle pages.

And why can't we do things like this with the builtin BlueTooth instead of having to use USB for everything?

I guess you can use BT on devices that have it, as easily as you can use WiFi, which I mentioned.

But Calibre does not support (and I am not sure the device allows file transfers, only audio)

Certainly not possible without programming.
However the OP didn't mention Calibre?

On Android you can grab a screen over ADB (either WiFi or USB).
You can't off-hand know when a page is turned but the desktop could be doing the page turning.

Some ereader apps can grab the actual text off a book screen.

Using Lego to turn pages? Bogus! There are already enough electronic ways to do that.

On a Kindle with no jailbreak? Some years ago to make a point about the stupidity of DRM only affecting ordinary consumers, not industrial pirates.
Unless they insist on implanted DRM decoding in your brain, or something, no DRM stops piracy.

My knowledge of Kindles is nil, but surely you can connect a keyboard to it? Just scavenge an old keyboard out of the garbage, throw away everything but the little PCB and the USB cable. Connect two points on the matrix for PgDn or Enter or whatever your device wants. Or use a $1 Chinese selfie Bluetooth clicker.

No way to do that on a PW3. No BT and no Keyboard support (without jailbreak, obviously it has OTG as a generic PC USB-A audio stick works via a dumb micro-USB plug to USB-A socket).

The Kobo models with BT do support a BT Keyboard, but without adding a script, only scrolls pages in the notebooks or adds text when the onscreen keyboard is up. Of course the Kobo doesn't need a jailbreak. A USB keyboard doesn't work on any of my Kobos, but not sure if it's possible.

Someone now sells a wireless mechanical page turner that works with any touch screen. That plus camera and PC would allow capturing anything on anything with a touch screen. I think it could work with a button on ereaders with no touch.
