The screen does not use any energy on or off, only when changing the display. Like real ink, it is meta-stable. It retains the last thing written to it. IF the device is an ad supported Kindle - IF you failed to put it in 'airplane mode' - Then it will wake up at regular intervals to check for new ads. Wifi, in general, does not use as much power as 3G but it is a factor. When done with device (for the moment) - Enable 'Airplane Mode' - Hold power button until you get the pop-up panel - Select: "turn off screen" (which means its lighting - the screen is 'always off' except while the display changes). |

I did had adds on my Kindle, but requested Amazon to disabled them some time ago.
I'll be doing what you suggested knc1, I'll put the Kindle in Airplane mode and check how it goes for the coming days and will let you all know. Thanks for the help!!! Last edited by Andrewzz; 07-28-2017 at 10:56 AM. |

If you left the wifi on, the battery will drain some because the antenna is on.
