Calibre $9 for 9 Appeal.
Just seen Calibre 9 arrive. It's a great software tool that many of us use.
I know we don't have to pay for it, up to this point, I hadn't either. But I thought, you know what, I'd really miss it if it went away. Sure I know we could use the current version, but eventually Windows, OSX and Linux would move on, and you'd not be able to use it. So, what should we as users do about it? How about a $9 for 9. If you've never showed your love for Calibre, then please show the Developers that we do appreciate them, and buy them lunch. I worked out that translating real money into these funky colonial dollars works about $9 for lunch. So how about it, can we get $9 for 9 going? I'm in, I've done it. Please consider how much you use calibre, and is it worth at least buying the guy lunch for, feel free if you have expensive tastes to donate more, but as users, we should really (if you can afford it) show our appreciation for Version 9. |

I contributed a few years ago, and I find it hard to decide when to contribute again for a product like Calibre that gets better and better. Anyway, $9 for 9 is a good idea so I ponied up.

I'd already donated before this was posted. I'd donated before and decided I was due again.

Love Calibre! I don't know how I'd manage my extensive e-book collection without it, and I'm grateful beyond words for the continual updates. I donated $15 last year and $15 again this year, and plan to do so every year for as long as I use it.

When I got my first dedicated eInk device (PRS-505) I found it almost unusable until I found Calibre. When I started to use Calibre to manage my library the attraction of a dedicated ereader became apparent. Because of this I made a donation there and then, money well spent imho.

Thanks Guys, it's nice to see that everyone had the same issues as me, when, how much, etc. I just figured that as 9.0 was quite a milestone, for a product that we get great support for, and makes a lot of devices far more useable than they would be otherwise. I guess it's one of those things, it every calibre user put in a $, then we'd definately see 10.0 :-) However, putting in a $ felt cheap :-)

Donated again, because it's been too long since the last time.
Thanks to Kovid and the rest of the team for a really good tool. |

I usually donate to projects with Flattr but went paypal for this excellent tool. Many thanks to kovidgoyal, the other contributors, and the good folks in this subforum who provide excellent peer support. |
